A Night to remember...

This night, at 1930hrs, the 28th day in August, year 2010. At a place not far away, a little dinner party was being held and hosted by Bernard and Yvonne.
Laila's Cafe was just the perfect place to hold a family gathering, which in our case, was a lovely dinner, little 2-piece 'band', personal dancing space, lakeside terrace, beautiful ambience, and to top it off... GREAT COMPANY!!

The Star Aquarius Boat Trip 1994...

In June 1994, the group of Chee sisters and brother Harry and spouses, went on a boat trip to Penang, and then to Singapore. The ship was originally meant to head for Medan, however due to racial problems, it ended up going to Penang instead. These are one of those few trips where I'm sure the ship's crew had their earnings worth of work (and fun and laughter). I wish I could have been there too, however, I'm sure there's a reason why the next generation never made it on the boat --chuckle--. God Bless all of them!

The Lees,Cheongs, Tans, Taye and Tam

Pat, having viewed your "Down Memory Lane" pics these last few days, I could not resist posting one of mine too. I think your dad or Uncle Michael took this photo along the road leading to the Belfield Road house on Petaling Hill (I forgot the address).

The house holds a lot of memories for me. I will forever be grateful to Ee Chik and Uncle Cheng Yan for taking me in to stay with you all during my undergraduate days and also when I started work.

Chinese New Year 2010

Greetings everyone!
Indeed this year's CNY must be one of the MOST if not THE MOST memorable occasion for all of us in this family. Everyone of us will remember this week with great fondness and nostalgia. I will not influence your memories of this wonderful event with my own thoughts, but will leave the link to the pictures of this special season celebrated at our dear Uncle Ed's and Auntie Dot's home. I know you will enjoy these as much as I have, and will always reserve this event in that special place in your heart. Click on the link over on the right under "Our Pictures"...

Year End...

Yet another year coming close to its end (again). Dad's 1st anniversary coming just around the corner.
One simply does not get over such loss; every once in a while, memories of Mom and Dad still haunt me.
Just the other day, I woke up from bed, and remembered how Mom used to get out from lying on the couch in the house when I visited. She never slept much at night, but always caught up with her sleep in the day time, downstairs on the couch. I remember how her hair was always "flattened" on one side and used to laugh with her about that. She'd always respond with "toksah gilah!" or "oh... panday giat guah ehh!" or "aiii... yah kah, mati skeh... ada orang datang ehhh?".
Dad on the other hand... was always the one awake, reading the papers or a book.
Memories.
